For the trade

Builders and trade partners

If you build extensions, renovations or new homes and want the underfloor heating done properly without managing it yourself, that is what we are for. We have worked alongside the same builders and contractors for years.

One point of contact

The underfloor heating handled by one specialist, from set out to pressure test, so it is not another thing for you to chase.

We work from your drawings

Send the plans and heat source and we will come back with a layout and a clear price, for supply and installation or installation only.

We fit your programme

We will tell you exactly when we need access and what has to be ready, and work around the other trades.

Pressure tested before screed

Systems are tested before the floor covers them, so problems are found while they are still easy to reach.

Domestic and commercial

Extensions and whole houses through to commercial fit outs.

Repeat work

A lot of our jobs come back to us through the same builders, year after year.

How we usually work with a builder

  1. You send drawings, the heat source and a rough programme.
  2. We price the underfloor heating, for supply and installation or installation only.
  3. We set out and fit the pipework or panels and the manifold.
  4. We pressure test and leave the system ready for screed or floor finish.
  5. Once floors are down we set up the controls and hand over.

Scope beyond that, such as design documentation, commissioning detail and what is covered, depends on the job. Tell us what your project needs.

  • Wet underfloor heating across a large room, ready for screed

    • Wet system
    • In screed
    • Whole room

A full width wet underfloor heating circuit laid across a large lower level room. Foil faced insulation lines the walls, the floor is built up over insulation and a membrane, and continuous pipe has been clipped in a tight even pattern with edge insulation around the perimeter, set out and ready for the screed.

  • Overlay underfloor heating in a glazed garden room

    • Wet system
    • Overlay system
    • Garden room

A low profile overlay wet system running through a glazed garden room and into the adjoining space. Grooved insulation panels are laid over the existing floor and the pipe is pressed into the routed channels, so the finished floor level barely changes. A good approach where digging out for a deep screed is not practical.

  • Underfloor heating in a contemporary extension

    • Wet system
    • In screed
    • Extension

A wet in screed underfloor heating installation in a modern extension with full height sliding glazing onto the garden. Continuous pipe is clipped over insulation in a close even pattern across the whole floor, with blue edge insulation around the perimeter, laid ready for the screed.

  • Underfloor heating in a ground floor extension

    • Wet system
    • In screed
    • Extension

A wet underfloor heating circuit in a ground floor extension still under construction. Blockwork walls are up to damp proof course, the floor is built up over insulation and a membrane, and pipe is clipped in a wide even pattern with the layout marked out on site, set out ready for screed.

  • Underfloor heating at first fix on a building project

    • Wet system
    • In screed
    • New build

A wet underfloor heating circuit run across several rooms at first fix stage. Timber stud partitions and blockwork are up, first fix plumbing is in, the floor is built up over insulation and membrane, and continuous pipe is laid in flowing loops from room to room, ready for screed.

  • Low profile overlay underfloor heating fitted in an existing home

    • Wet system
    • Overlay system
    • Renovation

A low profile overlay wet system fitted through the hallway and rooms of an existing, already plastered house. Grooved foil faced panels sit on the existing floor and small bore pipe is pressed into the channels, carrying the circuit through doorways from room to room with very little change in floor height.

  • Wet underfloor heating installed between timber joists

    • Wet system
    • Between joists

This wet underfloor heating system was installed between timber joists across several connected areas of an existing property. The photographs show the pipework fitted neatly within the timber floor structure before the final floor finish was installed.

What contractors and clients say

Several of these are from builders and heating contractors we have worked with over many years.

I have been a customer of Ian and his team for nearly 20 years. They handled the heating system installation in my new build in 2010, and I later invited them to redo the heating in my French house. They are now finishing another new build with me. I would never use anyone else.

  • Your programme, and when floors will be ready for us
  • Whether you want supply and installation, or installation only
  • Who is screeding, so we can coordinate the order of work

Questions from builders and trade customers

Do you supply the materials, or just fit them?

Either. We can supply and install the complete system, or carry out an installation only job where the materials are provided. Let us know which suits your project.

Do you work from drawings?

Yes. Send us the plans and tell us the heat source, and we will plan the layout, zones and manifold positions to suit. It helps to include the floor construction and your programme.

Do you work for homeowners as well as builders?

Yes. We work for homeowners planning a renovation, extension or new home, and for builders, developers and other trade customers.

Do you work with builders and contractors?

Yes. A lot of our work comes through builders, developers and contractors. We can take on the underfloor heating package on extensions, refurbishments and new builds, work from your drawings, and fit in around your programme. See our builders and trade partners page.

Do you take on commercial work?

Yes, we take on commercial underfloor heating installations alongside our domestic work. Tell us about the project and we will let you know if we are a good fit.
